Provide the ability to offset flight carbon emissions via donations to causes fighting the climate crisis.
I was brought onto the project by Jake after the initial idea and research phase to help articulate the experience for the user.
While there are many alternatives popular in Europe, nothing comparable has gained traction in the United States.
Making a flight carbon offset donation is optional, so we wanted to make the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Using frictionless workflow and delight as key metrics for the design's success will help us achieve these goals. In order to reduce front-end development work, we targeted a design that was easily reusable across both web and mobile. A card based design utilizing flexbox provides us the ability to easily adapt to screen size and heavily influenced the design.
Micro-interactions are one way to give design some delightful moments. I created a separate prototype to demo intended micro-interactions. This leaves the main prototype focused on the individual flow and visuals, while providing a clear, isolated look at the small details.
